Family Pictures

I am so far behind in blogging its not even funny. (In my defense Nic has had our Macbook while he's been out of town and, with iCloud, the Macbook has the most comprehensive collection of our pictures. So I hate to blog without it.) So, even though I know no one cares about December and Christmas (or in this case, something that happened in NOVEMBER!), I still intend to blog about it. For posterity sake. And to make my life easier when I finally get around to making my blog book.

While in Arizona over Thanksgiving we had our family pictures taken by Shannon Worley. She is Shay's friend and did her wedding photos. She was very patient and I like her style. We, on the other hand, probably appeared crazy. Is it just me or does family pictures bring out the worst in everyone? My normally pretty happy children become defiant and grumpy, I become stressed out and shrill, and Nic starts making unruly threats and bribes to get the kids to cooperate. Okay, maybe I'm over exaggerating a little bit. We did get a lot of really great shots and I think she captured the kids personalities really well.  But...well...I'll let the pictures speak for themselves.

Happy Family.

Cute, happy kids.

My beautiful girl.

Handsome, handsome boy.

Sweetest baby in town.

Kids still hanging in there.

By a thread...

Almost lost them.

And they're done.
Sage's face is my favorite. The whole picture is hysterical. In fact, I think its so funny I plan to frame it as a reminder that we are a very real family. Our kids throw tantrums sometimes, we get frustrated sometimes, and there is not single person in our family who is perfect (except maybe Jonas). And that's okay. We love each other just the same.

The kids were done so we got a few shots of just us.
My hair is really weird. It looks like its short and is hanging in my face and Nic always has a hard time knowing what to do with his hands in pictures. I have many a' picture of him pulling some sort of jazz hand just because he isn't sure what to do with them. Its funny.

So there you have it. One step closer to being caught up. Its my goal this week to get completely caught up. I can do it.
I think.
