Our last day with in SLO we went to Avalon Beach. The weather was a little chilly, but that didn't stop the kids from having fun. What is it about the beach that makes you want to take thousands of pictures of your kids? Must be the sheer joy they experience while there.

Nic walked back and forth from the ocean about 50,000 times to fill this sandcastle pool he made for Sage. She spent her time telling him exactly how to make it and was thrilled with the final result. |

These people from Asia were so impressed by Nic's castle for Sage that they were trying (unsuccessfully) to make one of their own. So of course Nic spent another hour walking back and forth from the ocean filling their castle with water. They didn't speak english very well, but by the number of pictures they took of Nic and the smiles on their faces I think they were grateful. I married a good man. |

Mason's catch of the day! He loved finding anything that resembled a sea creature. |

It was sad to leave Ann and Randy's house. They are always so good to us. Even though it was our first time in their new home, we felt like at home. They are the kind of people who do that for you. |
The next day, we headed down south toward Disneyland. In order to avoid some LA traffic, we stopped at a children's museum in Santa Barbara. It was right across from the Rose Bowl, so Nic thought that was cool. It was a nice break from the car and the kids had fun.
Finally we made it to our hotel in Anaheim and, once again, this was the scene at bedtime.
