Sage turns 3! (May 20, 2013)

This was an odd year birthday for Sage, so that means it was a family affair. We decided for her "family event" we would take her to Beauty and the Beast at the Playmill in West Yellowstone the following weekend. (She loved it!) This girl is so full of spunk and heart it nearly explodes out of her at all times.
As per usual, I was up into the wee hours of the morning finishing her cake and decorating the kitchen so she could wake up to some birthday fun!
With her my efforts are never wasted.

Since she will be starting preschool this year we got her a butterfly backpack.

These two.

She also got her very own Legos.

And to top it all off she got her dream breakfast. "Bogurt" (yogurt) and cocoa puffs. I am a bit of a mean mom when it comes to sugary cereal and view it more as a treat than actual breakfast, but when its your birthday you have to live it up a little.

Ready for the day. This backpack rarely left her person.

Quesadillas for lunch, another fav.

And more presents from grandparents.

Her big present this year was a new Strider bike. Its a bike with no pedals that is suppose to teach you how to balance and therefore ride a bike sooner.

She took off on it and was already balancing pretty well after just a few minutes.

All Sage wanted for her birthday was a "pink cake with sprinkles". I so appreciated this easy request and she was very pleased with the result.

I have a picture of me right around this age sneaking some frosting from my birthday cake. Like mother, like daughter.

These two are pretty crazy about each other.

Later that day and still wearing the backpack.

Princess costumes from Grandma Hall. She was thrilled.
My dearest Sage,

You light up a room the moment you enter. Your raspy voice, sparkling eyes, and witty comments draw people in and they just want to be near you. You are smart, funny, kind and beautiful. You love your brothers fiercely and I hope you never always feel that way toward them, because they love you too. You are fearless and so willing to try new things. I love how adventurous you are. Sure, sometimes you can be crazy. You know what you want and you want it now most of the time. As much as that may be hard at times, please don't lose that. Channel it toward getting what you want in life. You aren't the time of girl to settle for anything less than exactly what you want. I love you more than I can possibly say.

Love,
Mom.
