A bit of November

Thanksgiving post to come, but first a few pictures from earlier in the month.

Sagie loves her "doggie".

We are a bit ill-equipped for winter weather. Time to get some snow pants. And boots. And gloves.

A few minutes after this picture he stuck the stick out the bottom of the snowman and told me it was a bee.

Mason's first dentist visit. He did awesome.

Sage loves to wear capes, shoes, headbands, hats and anything else silly. And yes, that is the garter I wore when I got married.

Mason-isms

  • Me: "Mason, you need to find something else to do. Get lost." Mason: "I don't want to get lost Mommy. You're my best friend." (Insert a morsel of mother's guilt here.)
  • (Recounting our walk to Nic). (Building in excitement)"There was one garbage truck, then, what?! There were TWO garbage trucks!"
  • He always wants us to close our eyes so he can surprise us with his discoveries. Some of my favorites: "Mommy, close yours eyes and come downstairs." "Mommy, close yours eyes and come see this waterfall by this rock." Good thing he doesn't know that I peak.
  • (Upon entering the car after buying Mason's soccer gear). Me: "Oh no. I bought the wrong socks." Mason: "Its okay Mommy, I still love you." Less than an hour later I accidentally scratched him while getting in the car. Mason: "You know, you are a bad Mommy." Me: "But you still love me, right?" Mason: "No."
  • Nic at the dinner table: "This fly is all up in my business." Mason the next day, "Ugh, this fly is just doing my business."
  • Mason: "Does this slide not have a slide next to it so the girls won't kiss me?"
  • Mason: "Mom, you make the best biscuits." Me: "Thanks Mase." Mason: "No. Thank you."

This is Halloween

We have had a lot of Halloween fun spread over the last week. Here are a few excerpts:

South Davis Rec Center Halloween Party

This slide was pretty hard core steep. Mason loved it and wanted to spend all his tickets on it.
 Preschool Halloween party

Lounge lizard.

Three of the preschool in the area combined for a little parade and a treat.

 Church Party

When sweet turns sinister.

 Stroll up city creek.

Yeah. We really saw this huge spider on our hike. blah.
Pumpkin cookie making and pumpkin carving.

Nic says, "everyone look at the camera and smile" and this is what he gets.

Pretty serious business.

Nic teaching Mason some pyrotechnics.

Their best Jack-o-lantern faces.

 And finally, the big night.

This was Sage's first time trick or treating and she caught on right away. She would say, "Tri- Trea" and "Tink Ewe". She also would hold onto every piece of candy she got until she got to the next door and got a better offer. Then she would quickly throw the previous piece of candy into her basket and grab the new candy. Love this girl.
